ITT Project #2: Getting links and indexed
Today’s task is to get indexed in Google. I’ve promised myself to don’t spend to much time working on this site. After all, it’s only a case study and not something I actually plan to run for to long. I will probably just sell the site when I’m done with it anyways. Anyways, let’s get started. It won’t be to much linkbuilding today, only enough to get indexed.
Bookmark sites
We start of with the bookmark sites. Do get things done more smoothly here I’ve made myself an account on onlywire.com. Onlywire is a great site that allows you to add your login information to several of the major bookmarking sites. From this site, I can easily just add my links to all the major bookmark sites. It takes me about 15 seconds to add to more than 10 bookmarking sites. Of course if you don’t have an Onlywire account set up already, you’ll spent some time setting it up. But I promise you, it’s time good spent.
Then we head over to some of the other sites. Reddit, Digg, Stumbleupon, Netscape etc. I currently don’t have any tools to make this submission easier, so if you have anything please let me know. It would be great to automate this process a bit too.
Link trading
Let’s get some relevant links. I already know that I want to rank for “Ipod touch tricks”. So what I do, is to search for this keyword, and see what relevant sites that rank for it. Some of them are blogs and other small niche sites, so why not send them an mail and ask for a link trade? Remember to also try various keywords from your niche, like in my case I also sent requests to those who ranked for “Ipod touch”, “Ipod Touch hacks” etc. also. Make sure to tell them to use <your keyword> in the anchor text.
I just sent 8 links, and by the time I was done I’ve already got one reply.
And for finalising
I add it to the signature on all boards I’m member of and of course put a post on it in my blog! Remeber to use your keyword in the anchor text everywhere possible.
Now we’ll just have to wait to get indexed.

Nice KD. Since it’s been close to a month, what sort of results have you seen?
By the way, you should put up some of your photos on here!
